I just want to talk to you.

I don’t care what it’s about. Little stuff, big stuff, funny stuff, sweet, stuff, bad news, good news, secrets, anything. I like reading words that I know you typed for me to read. I like hearing your voice when I know you’re talking for me to listen. That’s the big thing. I’m scared of that going away for good.

So please, just sit there and talk about your favorite snacks and how much you want a pet and how annoying your mom is and the weather and your dreams and your shoes and everything else that comes to mind. If for no other reason than to keep me from losing mine.
